Thomas the Apostle (died c.72 CE, also known as Didymus in the original text or Judas Didymus Thomas in extra-canonical writings) was was an apostle who was one of the twelve disciples of Jesus.

He earned the nickname "Doubting Thomas" from the story of his mistrust of the resurrected Jesus until he felt Jesus' crucified wounds.
