Dr. Michael Barnett is an American pharmacist, healthcare administrator, Reformed Baptist deacon, and seminary board member. He serves as Director of Pharmacy at Noyes Memorial Hospital and is a deacon at Grace Baptist Church in Dansville, New York. He is a retired lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Force where he had served as a pharmacist and medical administrator.[1]

Education and Career

Barnett earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. After graduating, he received a direct commission into the United States Air Force as a pharmacist in October 1983.

During his Air Force career, Barnett served in a variety of leadership and training roles within military medical services. He completed advanced training through an Air Force Institute of Technology doctoral program and an Air Force fellowship. He later led the Air Force’s pharmacy training programs and served as a flight commander overseeing biomedical sciences training across multiple medical disciplines.

Barnett also served as the Pacific Air Forces Command Pharmacy Consultant and commanded the Air Force’s Medical Element, supervising approximately 295 medical personnel while also acting as its pharmacy consultant. He retired from the Air Force in December 2003 with the rank of lieutenant colonel.

Following his military service, Barnett worked as a family medicine pharmacist and anticoagulation provider at the Alaska Native Medical Center. He later returned to New York, serving as Director of Pharmacy at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital before assuming the same role at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.

Religious involvement

Barnett is a member and deacon at Grace Baptist Church in Dansville, New York. Within the church he has chaired the missions committee and has been involved in small-group ministry alongside his wife.

He and his wife became involved with the Seminario Reformado Latinamericano (or Latin American Reformed Seminary in English), through which Barnett was introduced to Reformed theology.

Personal life

Barnett is married to Mónica Janeth Barnett. The couple have been involved in theological education through Seminario Reformado Latinamericano, where she has pursued a Bachelor of Theology degree.
