Upon graduation from Covenant Theological Seminary in 1974, Donald was called as pastor. The church adopted the [[2nd London Baptist Confession (1689)]] in 1976. Three years later in 1979, the church’s name was changed to its current name "Phoenix Reformed Baptist Church".
